WORK

there is no day or night in space (2025)
Soho Rep Writer-Director Lab
Presented at Sheen Center in collaboration with director Chloe Chow

A play about riding into space on a tachyon-train with your sisters to settle a disagreement about your dead mom. Was more interested in notions of agency and intra-action (as coined by Karen Barad) and the intersection between grief and scientific inquiry/futility than the characters populating the play, but surprisingly people saw themselves in it, and I was, of course of course, touched.

Attention Activism (2025-)
Creative research & facilitation around technology, attention, and agency. Activities with the Strother School of Attention include a seminar about games and agency, a sidewalk study about whale falls, and research on translating attention activism concepts across cultural/linguistic contexts.

Also running ‘WTF is going on with AI?’, a critical tech/AI book club over discord.

그 밖에 / And So On (2025)
Poetry Collection by 메아리조각
Published by Workroom Press
Contributing translator

Translated two poems by Ha Mina from Korean to English

“Circulation Line” (2024)
Short Story
Winner of Columbia Journal Fiction Contest
Winner of Mary Steinbeck Dekker Award

About being stuck, being unstuck, the strength needed to reach out and across. Featuring ethereal purgatory, the Seoul metro, an unnamed foreign narrator.

Man of God
by Anna Moench (2024)

Co-director (with Anna Zheng)
Produced by the Asian-American Theater Project at Stanford University’s Nitery Theater

Among the Dead by Hansol Jung (2021)Director
Produced by the Asian-American Theater Project at Stanford University’s Nitery Theater

When I find myself thinking ‘I’m not a director’, this is the project I remind myself of. Stupendous youthful confidence combined with a sharpened attunement to the actor-director relationship after coming out of a Meisner workshop. Seeded many enduring and so-beautiful-I-could-cry collaborations.

Breathless Stars (2021)
Adaptation Writer (from On Stars Not Falling by Scott Shallenbarger)
Produced at Koom Theater, ranked #1 on Interpark (Korean performance ticketing platform) for August 2021

Wild Goose Dreams by Hansol Jung (2020)
Director & Co-producer
Intermission Productions
Produced at Sungkyun Theater

COVID production, no budget, rehearsed out of my parents’ living room with old friends. Still one of the best things I’ve ever done.
